Ranger Road Park is a nice park located right off of Ranger Road in the City of Fairfax. This park is located on over 10 acres and offers a basketball court, picnic area, two grills as well as playground equipment.
This park offers two different pieces of playground equipment, which includes slides and climbing areas. Additionally, there are two sets of swings for both infant and regular. The playground itself slopes down a small hill from the road and parking is alongside Ranger Road. There are Cardiovascular Fitness exercises along a small trail that allows you to get a little workout in, while your little one is playing. Two grills and a picnic area are also located at this park. One downside: There are not any restrooms located within the park.
My boys enjoyed the trail and crossing the bridge just as much as the playground aspect of the park. If you are located in the City of Fairfax of near Ranger Road, check out this park.
This two-acre park is in the midst of a renovation and have made it through phase one. Phase two will be completed by the end of 2015. A smaller version of the “climbing Eiffel tower” is the big highlight of this park. Although my kids are younger, this rope climbing tower is more for the 6-12 year old crowd. Also included at this park are swings and a swinging pole. There is a small paved path, great for the kiddos to ride bikes or walk to the basketball court. Located by the basketball court is a water fountain.
There is a Picnic Pavilion that can be rented, by clicking here. There are also more picnic tables and a few charcoal grills near the basketball court.
If you are located in Arlington or are looking for a fun park to check out. Make sure to add this one to your list to visit. We look forward to re-visiting once the tot lot is added.
Whether you are on the look out for a playground, walking trail, basketball courts or tennis courts, this park has all the features you are looking for. Located right across the street from JEB Stuart High School, at this park you will find a nice sized playground with a few slides, climbing equipment, “monkey” bars and on each side of the equipment you will find the fun, “old fashion” game to play telephone. My boys loved hearing each other scream at each other. A set of two infant swings are located right next to the playground as well. Since we visited right around the time school let out, we were able to see a group of kids play basketball and practice tennis. There was a nice little section of picnic tables with a grill as well. Parking is located on the street (by the school). There was a nice little trail leading you up to the play equipment, making it far enough away from the street and the school. This park is surrounded by trees and has plenty of opportunities for shade.
If you are located in Falls Church and near this park, I recommend stopping by to see all the amenities this park has to offer.
**Please note, if you do stop by during the school year and around the time of dismissal, there may be students hanging out while they wait for their rides or after school activities. **
Bucknell Manor Park is located right off of Beacon Hill. This park has a basketball court, baseball diamond as well as two nicely sized tot lots. The playground aspect of this park can be entered through the parking lot and is located in the middle of the park, away from the road. The playground has two units; a few slides, tunnel to crawl through, monkey bars and a ride on horse. There are also trash cans, picnic tables, benches and a grill to make your day out to Bucknell Manor Park worth the stop. Restrooms are there May-October. Although there is not any shade around the playground itself, there is plenty of shade around the picnic tables.
If you are in the Bucknell Manor Community, you should check out this park and enjoy a nice game of basketball or baseball.
