Yesterday we spend some time in Lorton and came across Pohick Park in the Pohick Estates neighborhood. This park was a great stop (as it is completed shaded) and it was a hot one yesterday! Located at the end of the neighborhood, there are a few parking spots, a port-a-potty and a small walking trail leading you to the playground.
Pohick Park is a great neighborhood park with lots and lots of shade! Located in the Pohick Estates neighborhood, this park is located at the end of Pollen Street. There is a port-a-potty, a short trail to the playground, picnic tables and baseball field. The playground is a typical piece of playground equipment with climbing areas, slides and tunnels. Directly behind the tot lot are four swings (two infant swings and two regular). There are picnic tables, trash cans and a charcoal grills as well. To the left of the playground is a baseball diamond. We played kick ball and soccer, but it was nice to let the kids run around and have a good time. In the short amount of time we were there, three other families came to let their kiddos run around and explore. To me, that’s a good indication that this is a fun and friendly park to visit.
As we were headed back to the car, we ran into, literally, ran into a cute little turtle underneath a tree. If you’re in the Pohick Neighborhead or Lorton, stop on by!
