Today we were blessed with beautiful weather and decided to head out to Fairfax to check out some new parks. The first park on our list was Country Club View Park in Fairfax, VA. This 39-acre Fairfax County park includes tennis courts, basketball court, playground and hiking trails.
Address: 10609 Henrico St., Fairfax, VA 22032
To reach the playground from the parking lot you take the paved trail passed the tennis courts. Once you turn the corner you can see the play equipment. There isn’t much shade over the equipment but the kiddos can walk around the edge the park to find some shade. The park has many hiking trails starting by the playground. If you have little ones a backpack would work well but the trails are not passable with a wagon or stroller. The kids and I did find a geocache when we were there and I noticed a few more on the geocaching site. There were no restrooms at the park but we are passed October and normally the county starts removing porta potties by early November. I’ll have to come by the park next year between May through October to see if they place a porta potty at this park.
This was a cute neighborhood park tucked back into the woods. The equipment was in great shape and we had fun walking along the trails. If you live near George Mason University or in the Fairfax/Burke area I would check out Country Club View Park.
