A friend of mine who lives in Warrenton recommended this awesome playground area in the Town of Warrenton. The Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility or WARF by the locals has a large Aquatic Center with Competitive Pool, Leisure Pool with large slides, lazy river and water mushrooms. The recreation part of the facility has a large fitness room and multi purpose room where they hold classes.
Address: 800 Waterloo Rd Warrenton, VA 20186
Outside the facility you’ll find seven athletic fields, inline skating rink, skate park, paved walking trails and large handicap accessible playground. The Claude Moore Fun For All playground is perfect for all children with all different abilities. The flooring is the nice compacted rubber mat that pads a fall. There are plenty of swings for every age range and ability. The playground area has a couple different large umbrellas for shade but not much other than that. The playground is situated right next to the Rec Facility so you can get out the heat inside. Restrooms are available in either the porta potty right next to the playground or inside the Rec facility. The part of the play area that I liked the most was that the area overlooked a large pond but was fenced off so the kids can’t fall in.
When the weather gets warmer the boys and I will be headed back to the park to check out the paved hiking trails and to hit up the great play area again. If you live in Warrenton this is great park with a lot of different activities.
A few weeks ago we headed out to the Town of Warrenton, VA to check out some Fauquier County parks. Eva Walker Memorial Park was the first on our list.
Address: Alexandria Pike and Haiti Street
This was a lovely park with two different age appropriate sets of equipment, regular and toddler swings (not pictured), and tire swing. There isn’t any shade over the equipment but a nice pavilion is situated near the equipment. The park includes a nice basketball court with bleachers, paved walking trail and horseshoe pits. A porta potty was located near the basketball court under the shade of tree and it had just been cleaned the day before.
The kids had a great time at this park. It was very well maintained and had lots of green space for the kids to run around. If you live in the Town of Warrenton or just happen to be passing through this would be a great park to stop by and check out.
Today we had awesome weather so we decided to go out west and check out Faquier County parks. We hit up Rady Park in the Town of Warrenton, VA. The few Warrenton parks that I have been to have always been very well maintained and this park was no exception. Rady Park is tucked back into a neighborhood of cute single family homes and the entrance is gated during non park hours.
Address: Rady Park
The park includes a playground with swings, baseball fields, volleyball courts, picnic area, and paved walking/jogging trail which loops the entire park. The play area has one piece of large equipment and set of swings. The equipment is under partial shade with plenty of benches and shade trees to sit under. The best part is the clean indoor restrooms right next to the play equipment.
One of the first things my oldest noticed was the kids playing in a small brook that runs along one side of the park. The creek has a small bridge that you can cross with seating in the shade.
This was a very cute park and if you live in the area or find yourself in the Town of Warrenton you should check it out!
