The playground area has preschool-age equipment with toddler swings surrounded by a fence but no gate. Then there is a large piece of school-age equipment and a couple regular swings. There are a couple neat climbing apparatuses as well. Just down the path you’ll find lots of shade under the canopy of the trees and several picnic tables. There is plenty of shade around and over the play equipment but no restrooms at this park.

This is a very neat park that has a lot of play equipment for all ages. The shade is an extra bonus as sometimes the Northern Virginia can get quite hot. If you live in Vienna and are looking for a new park, check out Tysons Woods Park!

It was a pretty soggy day when we headed to the park but the kids still had a good time playing on the equipment and on the swings. This is a nice neighborhood park that can be walked to from the surrounding homes and townhomes. The park only has one piece of school-aged play equipment, both types of swings, picnic table and bench. No restrooms at this park but you’re right around the corner from a gas station and a McDonalds. The park has plenty of shade during the hot days and can be a little buggy since it sits back in a wooded area.

This is a nice little park in the Vienna area that does the trick when you just want your kids to run around a little. If you live in the Vienna/Tyson’s Corner area, check out Freedom Hill Park!

One of the features of the park that I love is the “Little Free Library”. In order to participate you “Take A Book” and then “Return A Book”. It’s based on an honor system and it was a nice spot to donate a few books to the library.

Wolf Trails Park in Vienna, VA!

Wolf Trails Park in Vienna, VA!

Vienna, VA has some very nice parks and Wolf Trails Park is another great park in Vienna. This 11-acre park has two lit tennis courts, basketball court, soccer field, walking/hiking trails, and two age appropriate play areas. We didn’t get to do much on the trails since it had just rained but I did notice a ton of neighbors walking their pets along the paved and dirt trails.

Address:  9328 Old Courthouse Rd., Vienna, VA 22182

The park has two different play areas both with partial shade. One of the play areas is fenced in and is for the younger crowd including toddler swings. The older play area is not fenced in and has regular swings. The play areas are close to each other so you don’t have to worry about not having eyes on the older kids as the younger ones play. There was a porta potty in the parking lot and it was clean when we were there.

This was a fantastic park and if you live in or near Vienna I would check out this park. The Fairfax County park is a great mix of natural space with sport activities.

Peterson Lane Park in Vienna, VA!

Peterson Lane Park in Vienna, VA!

Yesterday the kids and I stumbled across Peterson Lane Park in Vienna, VA! This 5.45-acre Fairfax County park is situated between a neighborhood of great older and custom single family homes in the Town of Vienna.

Address: 575 Malcolm Rd. NW, Oakton, VA 22180

From the parking lot off of Malcolm Road you can barely see the playground equipment in the distance. Just follow the pathways that take you passed the freshly asphalted basketball court and you’ll find the playground equipment. As we walked to the playground yesterday we were greeted by these two cute little fawns having a snack by the basketball court.

The playground equipment is in great shape and offered the kids lots to climb on including a toddler and regular swing set. The playground was mostly in the sun during the morning but there are tons of trees for the kids to escape the heat. There are no restrooms available but plenty of benches to take a break on.

If the kids get tired of playing on the equipment you can head out onto the paved trails that run through the park and around the neighboring areas. There is plenty of shade and wildlife for them to check out.

If you get hungry or need to get a little shopping done the Town of Vienna and Chainbridge Road are just a short drive away. This was a very cute neighborhood park and if you live in the area you should check it out.
