A couple weeks ago we were out in Purcellville visiting some friends and we decided to hit up Loudoun Valley Community Center & Park. The facility sits not too far from Main Street & Rt 7 Business in Purcellville on the site of the old Purcellville Elementary School. The recently renovated Community Center has a Licensed preschool program and fitness facility. Outside you’ll find a large playground area, fenced in playground area, picnic pavilion, basketball court and softball field.
The playground consists of a large piece of play equipment and both types of swings. The fenced in playground area wasn’t available to us since the preschool was in session. But it looked like it had some nice smaller equipment for the little ones. Restrooms are available inside the community center and also a portable restroom by the softball field.
This is a very nice park and facility. If you live in the Purcellville area this is great site to take the kids!
The park has many different sports venues including inline skating rink, volleyball court, tennis courts, soccer fields, baseball fields, disc golf course and swimming pool. In addition to the sports venues there are two different trails an outer loop used for hiking, walking and biking and the inner loop is used for horseback riding. A catch and release pond is located by the baseball fields and has several docks to fish from.
A large fenced in playground is located over by the baseball fields along with an indoor restroom and picnic pavilion. The playground has two large pieces of equipment and both toddler and regular swings. The play area has plenty of shade near and over the equipment.
This is a very nice park with plenty of activities for everyone. The park has a great natural feel and the kids had a great time walking the trails. If you live in the Purcellville area I would highly recommend checking out this park.
Today we traveled west to the town of Purcellville to check out Nell Boone Park in the Neersville community. Purcellville is known for its farm land and many vineyards in western Loudoun County. Purcellville is great place to go winetasting and the Virginia vineyard signs point you towards each winery. If you’re looking for an affordable single family home with a larger yard and fewer neighbors Purcellville is the place to look. Large Manor and Estate Homes sitting on large lots scour the hillsides. Old Town Purcellville has century old Victorian style homes lining the main street through town. On our way to Nell Boone Park the drive was beautiful and we past many rolling hills and valleys. Nell Boone Park is situated right next to the Neersville Fire Station. The kids got to enjoy the park as well as the Fire Truck and Ambulance coming and going.
The park includes two newer sets of fenced in age appropriate play equipment. There is no shade so on a hot day like yesterday the refuge from the heat was under the play equipment. The park also has a baseball/softball field, aging basketball and tennis court. A porta potty is available near the baseball field as well.
Great community park nestled in between vineyards and farm land!
