I’ve been spending a lot of time in Clarke County with real estate clients and have come across some great parks. Rose Hill Park is located in the Town of Berryville in the middle of Historic Berryville. You can park on the street or in the library parking lot and walk down. The park is near many great local shops and restaurants. A white picket fence separates the park from busy Route 7 Business.
This park has lots of grass and picnic benches to sit down and have a snack. The playground doesn’t have a lot of shade but it was in great condition. Restrooms are located in the public library up the path from the play area and Judy’s restaurant down the block had no problem allowing us to use their restroom. Also in the park is a basketball court and Gazebo that can be rented through the Town of Berryville for private events. The cultural center, The Barns of Rose Hill are located adjacent to the park and offers education and art to Clarke County and surrounding areas.
This is a very cute park! If you live in the area or just happen to be passing through I suggest you check out this great Clarke County Park.
Last week we were out in Winchester and on our ride home I stopped by Chet Hobert Park in Clarke County. When we pulled into the gravel parking lot by the outdoor pool my oldest said, “Holy Cow Mommy!” The first piece of equipment you see is a very tall tower with two tube slides coming off of it. For most Berryville is pretty far out there but it’s a beautiful town with lots of agriculture.
The 102-acre park includes outdoor pool, Recreation Center, 2 miles of hiking/walking trails, picnic shelters, 2 different playgrounds, baseball fields, soccer fields, and lighted tennis court. We only made it to one of the playgrounds because the boys couldn’t get enough of the large slides. There is one very large piece of equipment that includes ramps and lots of little stuff for the kids to play on. A smaller playset is available for the little ones with fun ride on toys. The swing set is very large and includes toddler, special needs and regular swings. There isn’t too much shade over the equipment but plenty of shade around the edges of the play area. Benches, picnic tables, and a small picnic shelter are located around the playground. An indoor restroom is located by the baseball field and just a short walk across the parking lot.
This was a great park with many things for the family to do. The trails were nice and of course the battery on my camera died or I would have gotten some more shots of the park. If you live nearby or find that you’re in the area stop on by and check out this lovely park!
